Bill Mulcahy

In January, our son Christian married Phoebe in a wonderful winter wedding held near Camden, Maine.  We all enjoyed a long eventful weekend in Maine to celebrate their beautiful wedding.  Christian and Phoebe reside in Standish, Maine and both enjoy outdoor activities, which include hiking and skiing.

Bill and his wife Gail traveled out west to explore, hike and visit friends.  We visited Washington and Portland, Oregon where we explored the city and hiked in the surrounding mountains of these two wonderful cities with friends.  In early September we went to Glacier National Park in northwestern Montana and southern Canada.  We enjoyed the mountain views and during our hikes we were lucky to come close to a foraging grizzly, a family of big horn sheep- who refused to move off the trail (therefore we were forced to navigate around them) and mountain goats as we hiked in the upper elevations of these mountains.

The 2019 year has bought lots of family activities. With the summer weather being one of the best in years, it led to many boating excursions, some fishing, but lots of island hopping! My son Chris has had continued success with his financial services business, now called Aldrich Wealth Management, he operates out of our office complex. Feel free to ask for a “first or second opinion” on your investment and retirement planning. My son Michael is still teaching special education at Fitch H.S. and is working towards his Master’s Program in education. He resigned as head baseball coach at UConn, Avery Point this spring. He soon looks forward to another chapter in coaching at a collegiate level. My son Nicky is now a “Masters” Tugboat Captain and operates tugs from NY harbor to all of New England. My son Petey has earned his degree at Central CT State University, he hopes to proceed further with his education, to earn a Master’s degree in education, like his brother Michael. My nephew Patrick (really my 5th son) is a proud Dad, along with his wife Jeanette, they have a son born 5/27/2018 named Findley, and they are expecting another child next summer. My wife continues her work at CT College as a pre-school teacher, she also trains the college students on early childhood behavior. She adores our grandnephew, Findley. He is the only one she can spoil since she is still anxiously Waiting for her first grandchild. Bella our Portuguese water dog (Grand dog) is a happy-go-lucky pet enjoyed by family friends, and clients. She will be available at our office for the “mental therapy”!

Beth Stepski

2019 was another exciting year for Beth and her family.   During the summer, the family’s time was devoted to their  charter boat business and enjoying the summer weather.  During the winter, Beth and her family (husband, 3 kids and her mother-in-law) took a cruise to Honduras, Belize and Mexico.  In Honduras, everyone enjoyed the wildlife preserve, with the kids and Beth (everyone else was too chicken) holding Macaws and monkeys.  In Belize, everyone enjoyed a relaxing day at the beach and swimming in the tropical water.  In Mexico, the family enjoyed snorkeling and visiting the ruins.

In her free time, Beth is enjoying raising her 5 crazy dogs and adopted an 8-year old cat named Austin to join her 15-year old cat Rerun.

Shannon Rossi

I continue to spend a lot of time with my (almost 3 year old!) “puppy” Chase taking him on daily walks and of course cuddling on the couch. My boyfriend and I celebrated one year of home-ownership in June, and spent a lot of time with friends and family over the summer. This winter I cruised the Caribbean and Central America for 10 days! We visited Jamaica, Columbia, Costa Rica, Panama and Grand Cayman.

Janet Vilandre

Janet went to Martha’s Vineyard with her family and friends this year. She also went to a few concerts.

Kathy Haggan

Still chasing the Northern Lights after 2018’s amazing trip to Alaska by planes, ferries (not trains), and automobiles, Sept 2019 took us to Iceland to RV the entire country’s perimeter “Ring Road” over ten days.  For such a small country, the landscape changes drastically from region to region, owing to the fact it’s basically just a bunch of volcanoes.  Quite an adventure navigating our road yacht through the high winds and the constantly changing weather, along the fjords, over dirt roads, in the towns and cities.  Typical day: hiking, waterfalls, lighthouses, icebergs, Icelandic hotdogs (check ‘em out!), sheep, glaciers, rain, wind, sleet, sunshine, Icelandic horses, rainbows, snow, repeat!   And only one quick glimpse of the Northern Lights after all that!

I’m also loving my new identity as “Grammie K”.   A black tie event was held to celebrate our grandson’s first birthday.     Can’t wait for our future travel and adventures with James <3

Laurie Bulkley

2019 went by too fast! On my 11th year here!! Grandson graduated High School. Granddaughter went into the 4th grade. Vacation in Calhoun, Ga had a blast! Saw family I haven’t seen in 30 years. Hoping 2020 slows down a bit.

Betty Robbins

2019 has been a very busy year for me.  With tax season over, it gave me a chance to go see my brother and sister-in-law in Arizona. I had a great time out there – even the weather cooperated (warm & sunny).

Every weekend this summer was filled with activities. Either up in MA taking care of my grandchildren or out on the water sailboat racing (we took 1st place in ECSA for our division) or at Ivoryton Play House seeing a musical/play with friends.

This fall I had a beautiful surprise my son and his girlfriend (my significate daughter-in-law) went out to CA and eloped.  : )

All in All it was a great year!

Bella Aldrich

Bella enjoyed working as the office greeter and as the tax season therapy dog for her third consecutive tax season. Everyone knows how hectic the office is from Jan-April, so to relax and unwind, during the warmer months, Bella enjoyed swimming and rolling around in the sand, catching Frisbees and chasing tennis balls. During the colder months, Bella enjoyed the tennis balls with the added fun of rolling around in the snow. Anytime of the year is a good time for boat rides and car rides!
When at work after tax season, Bella liked resting in Papa’s, Betty’s, Kathy’s, and Shannon’s offices. She could also be found lounging in the kitchen, always in anticipation of the next dropped goodie. Just recently in December, she dumped out Janet’s garbage and was protective of Laurie’s work space on more than one occasion.
Although she can be bashful in large crowds, a sure way to win her over is to offer her a tummy rub. Bella knows she’s TOP DOG at Aldrich, Mulcahy & Associates.
